Frequently asked questions

  • What if I already have Access from AT&T, can I get the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB)?

The application and approval process for the EBB program is separate from the Access from AT&T program. Access from AT&T customers must apply for EBB with the National Verifier. Once approved for EBB, eligible households may receive the temporary EBB on their Access from AT&T service. Access from AT&T is only available on speeds up to 10M (Temporary speed upgrade to 25M).  For more information on the EBB on home internet service, click here.

If you’re interested in higher speed and it is available at your location, you may want to switch to one of the AT&T Internet service EBB options with speeds of up to 1GB. Existing Access from AT&T customers will need to select one of the other EBB eligible Internet plans. The new plan you select will become your Internet plan and will continue to be your Internet plan after the temporary EBB program ends. If you want to switch back to Access from AT&T after the EBB program ends, you will need to reapply for the Access from AT&T program.  Otherwise, you will be charged the standard monthly rate for the plan you selected, without any EBB related discounts.  For more information on the EBB on home internet service, click here.

  • What is the Access from AT&T program and how do I know if I’m eligible?
Access from AT&T is a low-cost program for home internet access in the 21 states where we offer wireline home internet services to limited income households who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits in California.

In response to the public health crisis, Access from AT&T is temporarily expanding eligibility based on income and to households participating in National School Lunch and Head Start Programs.

Actual service availability and speeds may vary by individual address. Eligibility for AT&T Internet service does not guarantee eligibility for Access from AT&T.
