Set up your mobile hotspot

Check your wireless plan to see if it includes mobile hotspot use. Learn how to upgrade your plan if it doesn’t, or how to set up your device if it does.

Make sure you’re on a compatible data plan

Use your compatible smartphone or tablet with these plans:
  • AT&T unlimited plans: AT&T Unlimited EliteSM, AT&T Unlimited ExtraSM, AT&T Unlimited &More PremiumSM, AT&T Unlimited Enhanced PlusSM, and AT&T Unlimited PlusSM
  • AT&T 4GBSM
  • All AT&T Mobile Share® plans
  • AT&T PREPAIDSM monthly plans: $75, $65, $50, $45, $35, and multi-month plans.

Check your current plan

  1. Do one of the following:
    • From att.com/myatt, select View my plan.
    • From att.com/prepaid, select Plans.
  2. Choose See plan details or Plan details.
  3. Look for Mobile hotspot:
    • Is it there? Great! You're good to go.
    • Don’t see it? Your current plan doesn’t support hotspots. Close Plan details and look for plans that do. Have AT&T PREPAID? Go to Add-Ons to check.

Upgrade to a compatible plan

  1. Go to Update your plan.
  2. Select Change plan and choose a compatible data plan:
    • AT&T Unlimited Elite
    • AT&T Unlimited Extra
    • AT&T 4GB
  3. Follow the prompts to upgrade.

Most of our smartphones and tablets work as mobile hotspots. A mobile hotspot provides a secure internet connection for other devices through Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, or a USB cable.
